The thought of selling my home was overwhelming at best. While I had enjoyed it for years "as is", I knew there were a number of improvements I wanted/needed to make before being satisfied with putting it on the market. I sought Fred's help because I was familiar with his professionalism and integrity. I felt I could not only trust him to serve my interest as the seller, but to also be honest with me about the work needed to properly prepare my home for sale. Fred guided me from start to finish, including helping me overcome the unforeseen hurdles I encountered. Anyone looking for a home in metro Raleigh can do no better than to enlist Fred Havasy as your Realtor. It's unlikely that other prospective clients will  have more complicated situations than mine, and Fred handled it with superb professionalism, impressive patience, and (this is really important) unfailiing good humor.  I moved from Denver to Cary, N.C., alone; my daughter Jenny and her family live in New Zealand and will join me later.  They participated in evaluating the properties that Fred presented to us.  (Thank goodness for the computer!)
 
We started the process with a detailed questionnaire that gave Fred an idea of my needs, interests and preferences, as well as those of Jenny's family. Eventually these were narrowed to some specific priorities regarding such concerns as the size of the house we needed and our preferred school area.  He sent us websites with homes that met most of our criteria, and he advised us on neighborhoods and other factors that don't show up in a multi-list roster.  He also made personal visits to homes that looked great "on paper" but proved to be woefully unsuitable "in person."
 
After we agreed on our Top Five, I came to Raleigh to visit them with Fred.  He was an informed and perceptive guide, pointing out facts that I wouldn't have noticed, such as a house on a new block where other homes were still under construction, and some lots were still for sale, meaning a lot of noise and congestion for some time to come.  Thankfully, our number one choice (the other four were really distant also-rans) was still unsold when I arrived.  It proved to be even better than I'd hoped, and Fred shared my enthusiasm.  He recommended that I move quickly because there were other prospective buyers. This meant advancing my move from Denver by about two weeks, but I'm sure I would have "lost" the house if I hadn't followed Fred's advice.

Fred connected me with a fine mortgage broker and a skilled real estate lawyer, who efficiently handled the financial and legal aspects of the transaction.  Now I'm waiting for the moving van to arrive (tomorrow!), and Fred is still available for advice, information and moral support.  Please feel free to ask him to put you in touch with me if you'd like to discuss what he can do for you as well!

We would like to recommend Fred Havasy to you as your personal realtor to help you buy or sell your home. Fred recently helped my wife and me purchase a home in Knightdale. We had several difficulties to overcome, not the least of which was a language barrier with the seller. Fred impressed us with his calm and cool approach to each difficulty and finding a way to overcome each one.
 
On more than one occasion, I was feeling pretty frustrated with things. Fred was able to not only deal with the problem but to understand our frustrations and not take them personally. He is a really great guy.
 
We came to Fred with our own lender. However, after his recommendation, we consulted with an in-house lender his company offered. His lender was able to get us a much better deal than our original lender offered us.
 
Fred was not reluctant to invest the time it took to make our deal work and answer all our questions. Many realtors would not have wanted to spend that much time on a smaller house. Fred gave us the same attention with our small house as he would have given someone buying a half million dollar home.
 
Thanks to Fred, we were able to buy the house we wanted, at the price we wanted, and even closed on time. Fred has definitely proven himself to us, and we are grateful for this opportunity to recommend him to anyone looking for a realtor.
